The Femina Stills - The Vampire

My practice is focused on the mutualism between fantasy and reality, particularly in relation to cultural constructions of identity. I am investigating fictional forms of femininity presented by visual culture, specifically horror, sci-fi and mythic narratives, that can be approached as reflecting or affecting how women are conceptualised, treated, and culturally understood by contemporary society. The Vampire relates to the ingrained fear that surrounds women’s bodies and sexuality.
