- The Femina Stills - The AutomatonMy practice is focused on the mutualism between fantasy and reality, particularly in relation to cultural constructions of identity. I am investigating fictional forms of femininity presented by visual culture, specifically horror, sci-fi and mythic narratives, that can be approached as reflecting or affecting how women are conceptualised, treated, and culturally understood by contemporary society. The Automaton touches on the ramifications of technology in amplifying gender stereotypes.

I am investigating fictional forms of femininity presented by visual culture, specifically horror, sci-fi and mythic narratives, that can be approached as reflecting or affecting how women are conceptualised, treated, and culturally understood by contemporary society. The Vampire relates to the ingrained fear that surrounds women’s bodies and sexuality.

I am investigating fictional forms of femininity presented by visual culture, specifically horror, sci-fi and mythic narratives, that can be approached as reflecting or affecting how women are conceptualised, treated, and culturally understood by contemporary society. The Girl is concerned with the acceptance and eroticisation of gendered sexual violence.
