The Ghost at Brooklands Museum

Concept and Brief
I designed the cover for the fiction “The Ghost at Brooklands Museum” which is a novel primarily aimed at an audience of children between the ages of 9-12 and young families.
The novel (written by Mark Richardson) is based on Brooklands' motoring and aviation history. The museum has also had many ghostly sightings which have been reported over several years and in part inspired the novel.
For the novel’s cover design Mark wanted to reflect a scene in the book where the main character (Jake) dramatically spots the Brooklands ghost (Sir William) for the first time. The novel is about how Jake and Sir William become friends and embark on a important mission to preserve a vital part of Brooklands history.
Outcome
The book is available as an e-book on Amazon, and as a physical copy in the Brooklands Museum shop. In December 2016 the book reached Amazon’s Top 10 Bestseller list in the category “Children’s Time Travel ebooks.” The book cover has also featured in the Classic Car Weekly magazine. During the launch the book cover design was printed onto T shirts that the author used to promote the book.
