Working with the British Heart Foundation celebrating volunteers from across the country as the lifeblood of the charity. I was commissioned to mark the launch their national volunteering campaign as they wanted to release a series of photographs to celebrate inspiring volunteers at the charity.

Ex-professional footballer, Adrian Forbes, 40, who previously played for Norwich City and Luton Town, who has been volunteering at the BHF for five years. Adrian has been committed to training young people, in CPR after experiencing first-hand how vital it is to have these life saving skills as a footballer.
Eliza Bell, 21, who started volunteering at her local BHF shop this year after undergoing a life-saving heart transplant only three months earlier. Having lived with Danon’s disease all her life, her condition took a dramatic turn late last year and she went into heart failure. Eliza sees volunteering as her way of giving something back. With a new lease of life, she loves to style and model donated clothing, displaying her scar with pride as shown in the photos.
Syrian refugee Mohamad Najjar, 18, who fled the war with his parents but sadly lost his dad to a heart attack before they could reach the UK. Mohamad has since been determined to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor and has been volunteering at a BHF home store in Scotland to improve his English and meet new people.
Troy Brown, 18, first started volunteering at the BHF Brixton home store when he was only 16 years old through a college work experience placement. Two years later and he is now a paid member of staff having acquired a wide range of expert skills and experience. When he first started volunteering, Troy’s school at the time supported pupils on the autistic spectrum and encouraged their pupils to gain work experience around their studies, to help them towards being independent once they left school. Since arriving at the BHF, Troy has been able to build his confidence and has helped him overcome his fears of entering the working world.
