The Great Feast of London

  • Lauren Raby

The Great Feast of London is a re-imagining of the festival experience. We’re merging the digital and physical to bring food and drink directly to your front doors, garden gates or local parks, accompanied by live-streamed gigs and curated playlists. Across the weekend we also have a lively programme of virtual wellbeing classes, talks and experiences. www.greatfeast.com Created as a celebration of London, The Great Feast is just like the city: open to everyone. Most events are free to attend while our hot meals and recipe kits are available at a range of prices. What’s more, the festival is partnering with A Plate For London so that every meal ordered during the festival is matched by one for a person in need. Throughout the weekend we’re also asking you to join our exploration of ways to better care for the planet, each other and ourselves. There’s a range of classes, workshops and discussions to join. US thinker Charles Eisenstein is speaking with Amisha Ghadiali about building a more connected world. Project Anja is leading a meditation workshop, while Josie Danielle is presenting a sound healing session. For those looking for something more physical, yoga classes across the weekend are hosted by More Yoga. Our food is brought to you by London’s most exciting chefs and restaurants – from exclusive 100 cover dining experiences from Michelin-starred chefs Ollie Dabbous and Nuno Mendes, through to meal kits and hot food from Patty and Bun, Kricket and Neil Rankin – all delivered to your door. All food across the weekend needs to be pre-ordered. Think of it as making a booking at your favourite restaurant: tell us when and where you want your food, and we’ll bring you an all-out dining event. It’s designed to provide a fairer, more supportive arrangement for London’s restaurants while making sure every meal delivered is extra special. We also have playlists and sounds created with each restaurant to perfectly soundtrack the dining experience. There’s also exclusive live gigs and playlists from artists including Groove Armada’s Tom Findlay, Jazzie B, Don Letts, Goldie and Felix from Basement Jaxx, who will be bringing the party right to you. Alongside our live and on-demand festival video and audio channels, we’re broadcasting live from Great Feast Radio across the weekend. Our festival hub providing the lowdown on events and performances across the platform, it will also host a variety of shows, DJ sets, talks and parties. As no festival is complete without a tipple or two, guests will be able to order beer and wine from London favourites including Bevertown, Fourpure and Brick Brewery. Finally, don’t forget to check out our experiences for some extra light relief and fun for the kids. We’ve got everything from cabaret-themed drawing classes and social bingo to sober raving and storytime hosted by dragqueen Mama G. So please spread the word and join us from your homes, gardens or local parks on Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th July 2020. www.greatfeast.com
