"The Grocery Circus" exhibition, held in London in April 2023, was a unique and innovative project that challenged traditional notions of where art belongs. The concept behind the project was to transform a supermarket into a temporary art gallery, showcasing contemporary artworks in an unconventional space. I showed one of my artworks entitled Solitude (oil on canvas, 2023). The exhibition was curated by artists Justina Saknaityte and Paris 2040, who aimed to spark a conversation about the role of art in society and where it should be displayed to be considered art. The chosen supermarket was located in a central area of London and was transformed into a space for experimentation and reflection for three days. Visitors to the exhibition were greeted with an unexpected and surreal environment, with colorful art installations and surprising interventions occupying the supermarket's aisles, shelves, and even shopping carts. The artworks were strategically placed to interact with the products and the supermarket's architecture, creating a dialogue between the art and its surroundings. The exhibition's success was evident by the large number of visitors it attracted and the media attention it received. By bringing art to an unconventional space, "The Grocery Circus" challenged the conventional notion of what constitutes art and where it should be displayed.
