‘Can a Fashion-style United Nations Save a Fractured Industry?’ The COVID-19 pandemic which caused a global lockdown of the industry-at-large, also served to shine a light on its tendency to work in silos. From the British Fashion Council to the Council of Fashion Designers of America, the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. I propose in my latest article that a singular entity or a Joint International Fashion Council (JIFC), that leads on implementing change - from setting and monitoring targets on sustainability, to embedding universal initiatives on disseminating funding - could be a way in which the spirit of collaboration that was fostered during lockdown, can be harnessed for the future stability of the industry.
