The Labour of My Love

  • Harry Phillips

"As artists and designers, we pour our heart, body and soul, our blood, sweat and tears into our work. This collection explores what happens to the most simple garments when they are laboured over for hours via hand stitching and embroidery. In the time spent handling and staring, our minds wander, linger and obsess, infusing every stitch with projections, hopes, regrets...anything and everything on our mind over the seconds and weeks spent with the work. The result is a new fabric, woven by you with such a myriad of thoughts and emotions, that even you can’t fully comprehend looking back upon completion. This is for those of us who never stop; whose minds and hearts are reeling even when our hands are still."
