The Magic Dyes of Kilims

My final collection titled ‘The Magic Dyes of Kilims’ explores the natural plant dyeing process of the Turkish Kilim weaving. This project is inspired by botanical flowers, plants and insects which have been using for kilim dyeing such as safflower, sumac, saffron, spurge and ST John’s wort. This collection includes a big scale of paintings and drawings which have been translated to digital designs combined with a fresh and contemporary colour palette based upon luxury inspired interiors, I have created a collection of samples that reflect a modern look. Through the combination of techniques such as Wilcom CAD embroidery and digital printing along with heat press technique. These collection of prints, wallpapers and embroideries are designed for a luxury soft furnishing for hotels.
