A video shot using a Bolex film camera that required us to use a film langauge word to inspire us to make a film. We chose the word ‘Diegesis’, which is a form of fiction storytelling which presents an interior view of a world and is: that world itself experienced by the characters in situations and events of the narrative.
We decided to tell a metaphoric story of a man, who seems normal on the
surface but gradually struggles to come to terms with everyday life and the increasing drone that something is wrong within him. The story in him is the diegetic element. The off key note in the score of reality. A story within a story in the form of our daily mental struggles between the inside and out.
