The moment in time

Design team: Jakob Ritt, Tina Touli, Yunxin Stella Wang While the notion of black holes is present in popular culture and is widely known, all of us can only speculate about the experience of entering, travelling through and emerging on the other side of a black hole. The thought of it alone can be unfeasible and inspiringly inconceivable. What will happen to me? What does it feel like? What is on the other side? We constructed a layered paper sculpture of concentrically decreasing circular shapes as a physical metaphor of a black hole. By projecting visuals and shining lights on to it we created palpable moments of travelling through a black hole, freezing the moment in time.
