The Night Manager

The project is a response to the Penguin Student Design Awards where it was briefed to design a new book cover design for the novel ‘The Night Manager’. The illustration focuses on distortion to demonstrate how the main character Pine, finds himself trapped in the world of espionage where no one is as they first seem. They symbol of the crystal has been used to demonstrate how Pine is trapped by Roper whilst reflecting the commentary of the class system within the book. The imagery and typography has become a metaphor for Le Carré’s writing style.
