THE OCCASIONAL BAKER is a 12-page monthly comic booklet I create for GAIL's Artisan Bakery, the London gourmet bakery/cafe chain. It's free for customers to take home and learn more about baking.
I share GAIL’s aspiration to make great bread more accessible to Londoners and beyond, and to encourage a culture for greater understanding of all things baking. After coming across my cartoon food blog, GAIL's approach me to commission a printed version for their stores. Issue 1 stars myself and Yolanda, my beloved sourdough starter, and it shows the journey of a crusty sourdough loaf from start(er!) to finish.
