The Prospectus for Alternative Pedagogical Practices compiles some of the most notable work of teachers, students, designers and academics who have redefined or are redefining how design is taught, learned and practiced on an international scale. The book documents 50 phrases inspired by 40 references collected from my research on some popular and some niche (historic or current) alternative design education models, as well as the research that some academics have already completed on the topic. The Prospectus... hopes to reach both the teachers of art education and the students of art education. It does not attempt to find a single solution to some of the most common problems in 20th and 21st century design education but instead finds unity between the many thinkers and institutions which are challenging the status quo, hoping we can revolutionising what we learn and how we learn it.
