New film production company The Road engaged me to design a full corporate identity for them. Their aim was to target up and coming filmmakers and writers looking to cut their teeth and make a start in the industry.
Already having some idea of what they wanted we decided on a tone of voice that was impactful and confident, but not too slick or polished.
Both of us being massive Twin Peaks fans, it was agreed that imagery of forests and trees and the colour green would play a central role in the visual identity. The use of ominous and enticing quotes from cinema that feature the words ’the road’ serve as a recurring typographic motif across materials.
The finished identity was deployed across a full stationery suite, identity guidelines, microsite and some self-promotional materials for the festival season. Business cards were letterpress printed for an extra touch of hand-made goodness.
