'The Roots of Life: 25 female perspectives and stories' is a book dedicated to the lives of others. Narrated and told in age order, the woman interviewed are aged from fifteen up to eighty-six and tells twenty-five different life of stories and perspectives of women from all walks of life, background, age and cultures. The stories include a whole variety of subject matters that are part of growing up from love, loss, sexuality issues to travelling, disabilities and illnesses. The narrative and imagery within my book is the life of a tree. Displayed along the bottom of each page, the imagery symbolises that as the stories age so does the tree. Alongside some of the stories are examples of my own photography and editing of a series of tree rings from different types and ages of trees. The scars within each of the tree rings symbolise the story it is positioned with.
