I have produced a large Screen Print of the Tardigrade. The Tardigrade is an incredibly unique microscopic animal, measuring at just 0.5mm it can survive in radio-active environments, and sub zero and above boiling temperatures. It’s most appealing trait is its ability to withstand the vacuum of space.
By magnifying the scale of my illustration, I have explored the relationship between experimental mark making and colour in Screen Printing, to present the Tardigrade in space. The Screen Print is produced with multiple layers, with each print offering a unique one off finish.
