The Theatre of the Underbelly

  • Angus Stanley

The Theatre of the Underbelly is an immersive theatrical experience situated in a ruined graveyard in Bath. It explores the power of narrative and how architecture can induce alchemical change in an audience. It consists of seven ‘scenes’ in which the characters come to terms with their own insignificance when faced with the power of nature. Although the outcome is fantastical, the themes and research behind it are very real. The theatre is a curated fabrication, yet it contains a profound narrative to inspire fundamental change.
