During my internship at Gum in London, I became fascinated by a newspaper article about the re-use of Down Street Station. After researching the location I came up with the following research question. How can I as a spatial designer tell the story of the history of Down Street station in an exhibition? And what will my role be as a spatial designer? Exhibition design is an interdisciplinary design direction in which experience design is very important. I decided to combine my knowledge of spatial design with the design methodology of scenography. The Underground at War is an exhibition space inside the former Down Street Station. The exhibition has been realized from archive material from various sources. The re-purposing of Down Street Station seemed to me an excellent opportunity to dust of the archive materials and give them a new life. The idea behind the exhibition is to show people a new way to experience the stories of the past. By using 2D image and convert them to interactive experiences Check it out on my website http://malissageersing.nl/
