The Van Lanschot Project

  • Joao Alberto

This project came to us, when a private dutch bank was looking to refresh their look and approach. The Brief was to deliver the vision for the Van Lanschot brand. New art direction, new tone of voice, new channels, and in the end, also a new logo.

The Logo
For the creation of the new logo for Van Lanschot Private Bank, it was asked to us to bring something new but maintaining all the elements present in their logo. Bank heritage, history, values and recognizability need to be kept. With this in mind, we decide to making it younger and vibrant but routed in their origins.
The Vision
With this new vision, we change dramatically the approach. We made the brand more light hearted. This was a bank with a lot of history and associated only with the elite and Van Lanschot wanted to change this mindset. To help them to do so, we used illustration as a way to tell stories. Trying to simplify some difficult subjects and give a more approachable and friendly, as well as trustworthy and honest feeling to their brand.
The Digital Experience
Following the same idea of using illustrations and simple blocks of colour. Photography plays also a very important role here. It was defined the Rembrandt Lighting for all the personals photography. Simple and flat designs, with clear navigation patterns make the brand feel uniquely younger and up to date.
