The West Review

  • Joe Stevens
The West Review is a website I founded that specialises in the latest news, reviews and previews from the world of music. I started The West Review to not only act as a platform for me to speak about one of my passions in life, but also to hone and continue to develop my skills as a writer and a critic.
I’m very proud to say that The West Review has ‘taken off’, more than I expected, now boasting around 3000 unique monthly views and over 800 dedicated subscribers. As a result of its popularity I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of big names from the world of music including RAM Records and Festival Republic.
Some of my more popular posts are among the most popular on the internet, this you may find hard to believe, but I’m as surprised as you are. For example, if you Google ‘Yeezus sucks’ (the name of Kanye West’s sixth studio album) my article is the first to be returned. Googling ‘Odd Future’s Best Songs’ (a popular rap group) also returns my article second in the list, surpassing similar countdown lists from the likes of XXL Magazine. This is something I’m extremely proud of, as SEO is something essential to the success of a website.
