About me
My name is Joe Stevens, I’m 21 years old, and currently enrolled at University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, studying a degree in Media & Communications (BA Hons). I am in the third and final year of my course, and will be looking to graduate in June. My main passion in life is music, with most of my days spent listening, reading, writing or playing it in some way or another. Other interests of mine include festivals, DJing, travelling, film, basketball, football, interior design, fashion, and technology.

  • The West Review
The West ReviewThe West Review is a website I founded that specialises in the latest news, reviews and previews from the world of music. I started The West Review to not only act as a platform for me to speak about one of my passions in life, but also to hone and continue to develop my skills as a writer and a critic. I’m very proud to say that The West Review has ‘taken off’, more than I expected, now boasting around 3000 unique monthly views and over 800 dedicated subscribers. As a result of its popularity I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of big names from the world of music including RAM Records and Festival Republic. Some of my more popular posts are among the most popular on the internet, this you may find hard to believe, but I’m as surprised as you are. For example, if you Google ‘Yeezus sucks’ (the name of Kanye West’s sixth studio album) my article is the first to be returned. Googling ‘Odd Future’s Best Songs’ (a popular rap group) also returns my article second in the list, surpassing similar countdown lists from the likes of XXL Magazine. This is something I’m extremely proud of, as SEO is something essential to the success of a website.
  • Farnham Rants
Farnham Rants‘Farnham Rants’ is a satirical examination of British life, an exploration into the internet activity of the typical Facebook-using Briton. Taking the form of a coffee table/gift shop-esque book, Farnham Rants is a collection of Facebook posts, comments and discussions, those of which found on the private community Facebook group of the same name. The book will highlight some of Farnham Rants’ most memorable moments, from the hilariously petty, to the gorgeously ironic, to the downright pointless.

Work history
    Digital Marketing Intern
    London, United KingdomInternship
For the last two years I have been working part-time for Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospitals Charity, a London-based Charity that helps raise money for the aforementioned heart and lung hospitals. In this role as a Digital Marketing Intern, I have developed an array of various skills, skills I feel have made me an excellent candidate to consider for this opportunity. Some of my duties within this role include web design and development, graphic design for both online and offline platforms, creating email bulletins, newsletters and campaigns, event marketing and promotion, and social media. While initially advertised as a one-month internship, I'm very proud to say I'm still in the role, and am now approaching the two-year anniversary of my first day.
