The Winston Churchill Design Competition - 2015

The gift box was designed like this to represent Churchill’s vibrant and eccentric nature, and is very much a celebration of his life. The ‘v’s down the box are for victory, a symbol that he was famous for. The oil painting texture found inside the ‘v’s on the side of the box is from one of Churchill’s own paintings, its an orchard but it happened to resemble a vineyard. The portrait is one of the more famous photos of him and I have adapted it to make it look like an etching, similar to bank note portraits.
