Cambridge City Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and commissioned this animation to communicate the need for a cleaner, greener Cambridge to residents.
Clearly stating the Net Zero target, we positioned Cambridge City Council as a place that is working hard to reduce the impact, but accepts that more must be done by everyone. As we move through the animation we show examples of how we can all play our part in reducing emissions.
Using a grey to green colour palette and working with illustrator Pam Wishbow, we engaged a textural animation style to give the piece a natural, efficient and organic vibe.
Typographic messages and the supporting voice-over are urgent and clear, taking the viewer on a three-part journey in 60 seconds – from the threat we face, to the actions we can take and ultimately the change we can make.
