  • Seismograph
SeismographPlanetary anxiety amplified. For the launch of Kurakura’s album we directed, produced, filmed, edited and animated this complex experimental music video for the track ‘Seismograph’. Inspired by the band’s lyrics, our film depicts a photographer, documenting climate breakdown and subsequently losing his mind as he grapples with the scale of the subject. From timelapse to flashframes, plus audio-driven special effects, we were very experimental on this shoot; creating a mind-bending alternative r
  • This is a Climate Emergency
This is a Climate EmergencyCambridge City Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and commissioned this animation to communicate the need for a cleaner, greener Cambridge to residents. Clearly stating the Net Zero target, we positioned Cambridge City Council as a place that is working hard to reduce the impact, but accepts that more must be done by everyone. As we move through the animation we show examples of how we can all play our part in reducing emissions. Using a grey to green colour palette and working with
  • Nikelab x Sacai
Nikelab x SacaiThe Windrunner, with it’s 26 degree chevron, has been a Nike classic since it was first designed in 1978. To celebrate this icon Nikelab collaborated with Japanese fashion brand Sacai to produce a set of limited edition jackets. To capture the fur in motion, we shot two different jackets at high speed, utilising the iconic chevron graphic as a split-screen device to echo the two-colour design of the collection. This promo was one of a series of films for the ‘Year of the Windrunner’ campaign was
  • The Artist and the Machine
The Artist and the MachineThe Artist and The Machine follows the highs and lows of Hastings-based artist Lorna Hamilton-Brown. Previously referred to as the ‘Banksy of knitting’, Lorna works in many mediums but this film focuses on the power of the stitch to create knitted pieces of art. Lorna’s work is at times socially charged and poignant but is always meticulously planned and brilliantly executed. This film explores the person behind the art and why the small coastal town of Hastings where she lives is so important to her creative process. We are shown how Lorna blends a creative, hands-on craft with the almost OCD, mathematical side of vintage machine knitting to amazing effect. From crushing self-doubt to flourishing creativity, this is a story everyone can relate to, told through the voice of one the UK’s most unique political artists. The film was picked up by festivals in the UK and USA including the BAFTA-Qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival.
