This Way Madness Lies

Jonathan Barnbrook is a Grammy Award winning graphic designer for his work for David Bowie’s Blackstar album. In 2015, I had the privilege of being part of his studio and learning directly from this iconic designer. One of the projects I was involved in designing was a book called This Way Madness Lies. Published by Thames and Hudson, to be released simultaneously with the Wellcome Collection exhibition. This iconic collection explores the history of madness and mental health from the 18th Century until today. The narrative that is set in the Bethlehem Hospital in South London tells the 18th Century madhouse, 19th Century mental asylums, the 20th Century mental hospital all the way to the post-asylum modern days.
