Time for a change?

  • Alan Firmin

We’ve made our home, upon this earth, And stripped it for, all it is worth, When will we, ever learn what’s right, Open our eyes, & see the sights, Mother nature’s, beginning to bloom, And will remove, some of our gloom, It’s funny how, she works that way, Always steady, day after day, But mind her wrath, she will not rest, And We are far, from passing her test. With wind & water, storms & hail, She will punish, us if we fail, She will shake, and rid herself, Like dust be brushed, off an old book shelf, Right now she’s taking, the break she needs, She’s breathing deeply, without our greed, What must she wonder, of our disappearance, Or did she set, this virus upon us? It’s not as if, we’ve been good guests, We never really, gave it our best, But growing deep, inside us all, An appreciation, for natures call, We can change, everything we’ve done, It won’t be easy, it won’t be fun, But what it will, become in the future, Is a turning point, we began to nurture, Mother Nature, and the animals here, It’s time to change, that much is clear.
