Twenty5 Series Speakers

  • tom harper

Over the course of one year working at E.Kendall & Sons I was responsible for developing five speaker cabinets for established audio brand PMC. The customer was looking for a new suppliers of wooden painted speaker cabinets and supplied basic PDF drawings which I worked up in Solidworks and then Alphacam in order to machine components and refine production. The customer required a high‐quality and reasonably priced product, which meant that efficiency of manufacture was critical to the success of the project. In leading this hands‐on development process, I developed machine programmes, created prototypes, produced jigs, designed tooling and operated both manual and CNC woodworking machines ‐ gaining extensive experience operating an SCM 5 axis router. In addition to the development of timber parts I also oversaw the painting process which was a new technical challenge in itself due to the demand for a flawless finish.
