TYPE TRIBUTE
BRIEF: Given a single typeface and title, form a tribute band and find out all there is to know about its history, use and context and understanding of the typeface’s anatomical details. Working in a group for our research, we came up with a name for our band and used the title (‘Postscript’) given to us as the name for the album. We then each produced our own outcomes: • A 12 inch vinyl LP package • A coordinated cassette package
I initially tested out different methods in presenting the typeface, playing with the layout on Indesign and Illustrator. However, to achieve the 3D effect I was after, I first planned the layout on Indesign and proceeded to laser cut the letters onto cardboard. And later arranging the letters to photograph them.
