Unconventional Magazine Issue and Article

  • Molly-ann Barnett
This project focuses on the less popular, out-of-the-ordinary destinations such as Pyongyang, North Korea. The imagery on the front cover is intended to capture the notion of an unconventional and raw, yet authentic, adventure - in contrast to the relatively pampered experience of modern day travel. The inner spread is the introduction page to an article which addresses a tourist’s view of Pyongyang. The type and photography treatment are intended to symbolise the Western perception that North Korea is censored and fragmented, despite continued failed attempts by its leadership to frame the city and the country in a positive light.
