Understanding Identity

As young generation, too often we feel misunderstood and we see ourselves obliged to adapt to established ways that make us feel uncomfortable. So, to what extent should the older generation educate themselves on the younger generation as to correctly understand each other? For this reason I have created a website that allows you to learn and discover new terms regarding the issue of gender identity. In addition to the website I wrote a report that aims to educate the older generations on gender and how gender identity can differ from our biological sex. After consulting with my target audience through the use of questionnaires, I have investigated the idea of gender performativity both in psychology and art. Thanks to research and my final outcome, I hope to inform the older generations, and to encourage the new one to discuss the topic – in order to create a greater understanding and a peaceful conversation between the two.
