I completed a competition brief to design a digital print for a swimwear range at a high street retailer. I have been inspired by The Tropical Jungle Spring/Summer 18 trend which is particularly popular on the catwalk. My digital print has been influenced by fashion couture designers such as Osklen Praia who has a collection based on tropical prints.
I have also been inspired by digital Impressionist photographers such as Steven Vandervelde, to layer drawings of leaves together and paint them during different times of the day to capture a momentary, sensory effect.
I have used a limited but sophisticated tropical colour palette, so my design is suited for its target market.
