We Will Not Be Silenced is a just-released spoken word track protesting against the Israel-Gaza war, its support by the British political establishment, and broader aspects of atomisation and structural violence. The poem speaks to this moment of humanitarian crisis, and also to a context of increased attempts by Western governments to undermine the fabric of democracy through attacks on free speech. Blending jazzy LoFi music with poetry, the track aims to move through personal emotional responses to these events and ultimately encourage togetherness and love, converting disillusionment into fuel for collective action and change. A collaboration between poet Jess Ruby and music producer Teo Marangon, We Will Not Be Silenced is currently available on Spotify and reaching more streaming services, including YouTube and Apple Music, later this week. As a grassroots activist venture, this project aims to spread the message for a ceasefire in Israel-Palestine, an end to the siege on Gaza and an end to occupation and apartheid, standing in solidarity with those working on these campaigns.
