Wembley Stadium App

  • Amar Puni

During a 2 week sprint, our team of 4 researched, re-designed, tested and iterated the current Wembley mobile phone app to give game attendees tools to better discover everything the stadium has to offer and to simplify the processes for purchasing concessions and merchandise both at the counter and from their seats. RESEARCH & TASK ANALYSIS In order for us to understand what the users think and feel we created a task analysis of a few user journeys - a user arriving at the stadium, a user finding a food stall, a user ordering & buying food and a user navigating to their seat. This helped us identify some pain points associated with these journeys. This put us in a good position to start our designing process. DESIGNED As a team, we decided to conduct a design studio on the flow which was the most complicated, which was the ordering of food/merchandise. The design studio allowed us to brainstorm all of our ideas. This was a time-boxed session which meant that we were able to go through a few iterations of sketches. This design studio allowed us to create our screens so we were ready to start testing our 1st iteration. TESTED We went onto conduct some user testing which allowed us to gain some feedback in our approach. This helped us make the relevant changes to help make the user experience more enjoyable. ITERATED From our initial design studio sketch on the far left, we went out and conducted testing at each evolution of our screens. This allowed us to make relevant changes and further refine our screens to a state which users were happy with. In this example, we integrated a traffic light system into the queuing time for collecting food/merchandise from a collection point. This allowed users to visualize the waiting time i.e the time in green will indicate the point with the least waiting time while the red will indicate the longest wait time.
