Identity Design for the final graduate exhibition at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg

BRIEF

The “Werkschau” is the annual graduate exhibition show where students display their final projects to industry professionals, friends, family, and members of the public. The event honours the achievements of more than 100 students across two courses. I was part of a group of eleven students who created, developed and realised the visual identity of the show and set up the whole event.

INSIGHT

Transformation is a key element for a recent graduate: while studying, you develop through shared experiences, different influences, and various opinions of teachers as well as peers. This gave us the inspiration to pick the theme of “transformation” for our exhibition.

IDEA

The main idea was to visually translate transformation. An interchangeable logo as well as semi-transparent typography communicate flexibility. We also changed the former exhibition catalogue to a box with foldable student‘s cards including a portfolio. The concept was applied to the website, an in-house installation, videos, photography, and merchandise to form a coherent identity.
Please click on the single pictures as some of them are unfortunately distorted for some reason. The last three pictures are two promotion videos and the making-of. They will start automatically when you click on them. For more information please visit HS-Augsburg. This project is also featured on designmadeingermany.
