What a Lulu!

Alban Maria Johannes Berg was born 138 years ago today on the 9th of February, 1885, in Vienna. OK, it's not a particularly significant anniversary, I know; he's just my favourite composer, along with Debussy, and I'm probably one of the happy few who's going to remember him today. Gonna listen to Lulu later and so should you, the Boulez/Stratas version if you please. Or maybe the violin concerto, or the Lyric Suite. Or his early lieder, ravishingly beautiful. Ya can't go wrong with Alban. Open your ears -- you might be surprised.
