What Does ‘To Publish’ Even Mean?

Published content has witnessed a dramatic and significant shift.
In the internet age, a publication can range from content generated by ‘reputable publishing houses’ to the 7 minute workout plan your cousin pinned (virtually of course), to the Pumpkin Oatmeal breakfast your neighbor Instagram-ed to Kim Kardashian's tweet about feeling ‘Fat as F—’ and Syrian refugees on Youtube.

This project challenges the traditional notion of publishing by exploring the following:
How important is sequence in an instruction manual?
Does a change in sequence affect the final outcome in mediums like Origami and Lego?
How relevant is combination in a toy vs a functional object?
Is a toy dinosaur still a dinosaur if it is assembled differently?

Does a chair remain a chair if you can’t sit on it anymore?
Is it now a broken chair? Is it not a chair at all?
I ‘published’ various chairs. Does that make me an ‘author’ of these specific combinations?
Does there have to be a ‘correct’ way of using an object?
I invited people to make their own ‘objects’ and and if they liked, to define function as well.
