Window Display for a Real Estate client

  • Sylvia Cardim de Melo

Located in Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon’s luxury strip, LIBERDADE 40 is a retrofitted building that offers 16 modern apartments. On the ground floor sits a 721 sqm retail shop space looking for a new owner/tenant. The client asked us to design a vinyl to apply on the glass windows in order to hide the construction inside the shop. While we presented that option to them, we also took upon ourselves to think outside the box. As the client wanted to attract luxury fashion brand to occupy the space, we suggested to therefore treat the shopfront as a FW 18/19 display. A very native solution to the fashion world.

As our client was not a luxury fashion brand, we needed to create a bold & simple solution that sparked buzz but that still delivered to the message that the space was available to rent / buy. As such we conceptualised a display with naked mannequins, against a black backdrop with falling rose gold painted leaves to create a fall/winter illusion. We opted to communicate the availability of the space through the words “SHINE HERE” made in white wood, hanging down from the ceiling.
The result was a window display that stuck out even from a distance, generating buzz and eventually catching the attention of its new owner.
The project was commissioned in August, and had 3 weeks for completion. Given that the city virtually stops in August, one of our biggest challanges was finding the right execution partner that could bring our idea to life with a tight timeline and during the summer holidays.
