Woodland Typeface

  • Mairi Brascoupe
For the typeface design project, I set out to design an expressive, display font that could be used for logos, headers, and signs. I began by creating a series of calligraphy experiments using different, unconventional tools such as broken wood, forks, feathers, and handmade pens, bringing unexpected and original results. I then selected one of the experiments to develop further into a digital typeface. The final font has rustic and expressive letterforms that would be suitable for outdoor adventure companies, travel ad campaigns or your local hipster coffee shop sign.
