Year of The Tiger Surface Design

Illustration to welcome in the new Lunar year. I was born during the Year of the Tiger so this illustration holds a special place in my heart. Throughout Asian culture the tiger zodiac is thought to bring protection, good fortune and strength. I've always been interested in designing and illustrating for homewares, and thought how perfect this little beastie would look as a repeat pattern! I love to create art that is not only to be enjoyed but for people to interact with on a daily basis. Designing the wallpaper was especially fun, and I hope to work on more projects like this in the future. Illustration in gouache and pencil crayon on paper.
