while working part-time here through college and university, I have designed a few recycling posters from scratch using adobe illustrator to create the icons. This came after being informed of a huge recycling issue due to language barriers between some staff but also staff not looking at posters previously made. I came up with idea that if
they were more aesthetically pleasing, english speaking staff would look at the posters. I also figured that if there were clear icons then it’d be clear to staff with english as their second language what each bin is used for. These are still up in back of house areas a year and a half later and seem to have helped improve the recycling issue.
