About me
I am an ambitious and adaptable Postgraduate student, who enjoys being faced with challenges and is extremely hardworking. I have targeted experience in events and marketing with Free Radio (Bauer Media Group) and Mitchells & Butlers. I am currently studying a Masters, in Marketing Management for Events, Hospitality and Tourism at University College Birmingham, and would love the opportunity to complete a placement in Marketing as part of my studies.
I’m a very bubbly person with a positive outlook, who is keen to develop a career in an area that allows me to show how creative and driven I am. I have the ability to make decisions and use my initiative, facilitate and lead teams as well as being able to work independently, and work to a high standard even in a highly demanding job.
I currently work as an Events Team Member at Free Radio, where I have gained experience working backstage and front of house at live, commercial and client events. I also have experience of stage management at large events such as Free Radio Hits Live and am skilled at working diligently to the presenters’ running order, ensuring that the event runs smoothly and on time. I have also assisted the Marketing Team on a voluntary basis, where I helped with organising events and marketing campaigns.
Whilst working in HR, I made the decision to become part of the Mitchells & Butlers Social Committee, so I could develop my events organisation and communication skills, whilst also satisfying my craving to work in this area. I would often assist the Internal Communications Team on a voluntary basis to manage their workload, by taking on tasks and small projects. Gaining this experience has really shown me the world of communications and has taught me how to engage with people both online, using Social Media Platforms, and offline at events.
I have achieved a Degree in Psychology (BSc Hons), which has helped me to gain an understanding of how influential marketing is in everyday life, how the human mind works, as well as the importance of analysing information, time management and organisational skills. Completing my Dissertation in my final year, taught me how to effectively keep people’s details confidential, and how important this is to maintain the integrity of a company.
