I co-founded and ran the Blooming Brushes Art Program with a Colleague and curated the culminating exhibitions. The Blooming Brushes Art Program was created to facilitate a community where students at The University of Kent could come together and share in the experience of learning new skills and creating something of their own.
We endeavoured to create a class of dedicated artists searching for ways to grow as individuals and to become more involved with Canterbury’s community. The program featured 3 local artists who shared their passion and expertise with the students, and over a series of 5 sessions, the students truly bloomed. The program ended with 2 exhibitions; one at the University of Kent, and the other at a venue in the Canterbury town.
Some of my duties Included:
Writing grant proposals, budgets, risk assessments, program blurbs etc.
Designing and creating promotional materials for the art program and the exhibitions
Managing the students in the program and the artists
Designing and curating the Exhibitions
