I have significant experience working with young people as Brass and DJ Tutor at St. Michael’s Catholic College. I have delivered 1-to-1 and group Brass lessons to students of mixed ability including children with learning difficulties. I have also supported the music department to produce and implement a curriculum for DJ-ing as an instrument under new GCSE guidelines. I understand best practice in educational settings well, and have experience raising concerns over students’ safety and wellbeing to my line managers at the School. Following my work developing schemes of work for the DJ GCSE component, I have begun to devise a new podcast series that aims to raise awareness of the change.

A paper that I wrote in 2017 won this national award, entitled 'In What Ways Does Footwork Reflect and Produce Space?'. The paper focuses on the ways in which the Chicago genre 'footwork' reflects and produces space on architectural, sonic and bodily/gendered levels.
