Design DirectorHYD Ltd
London, United KingdomFull Time
The focus in taking on this role was to maintain a positive environment that allowed freedom of individuality and creativity, providing support where needed, and ensuring quality delivery as I recognised that the maturity of the existing design team was already on a strong trajectory, requiring considered maintenance and encouragement to develop further.
With the hiring of additional more junior staff, more mentorship and direct involvement was required, and I ran team sessions for sharing inspiration and knowledge with each other as well as regular one-on-ones with these new members to bounce ideas and review work before delivery.
Plus, the ongoing design aspect of the job included regular design production, delivery, pitching, and scoping, as well as optimising our own workflow to perform more seamlessly with other departments.
Project highlights:
- GSK Intranet (ConnectGSK) landing page redesign, now used by thousands of employees across the global pharmaceutical giant and led to becoming a preferred agency partner of GSK.

- Renault Sport social media creatives ranging from image editing, crewtive visual executions and motion graphic promotional material.
- Greggs app redesign, refreshing the app look & feel to breathing new life into it for 2020.

Illustration BA (hons) University of the West of England

Studying illustration allowed me to learn not only different styles of working, but also a greater appreciation of differing types of work, the means in which they were created and the process as whole. The course modules allowed me to become accustomed to managing self-directed projects, while theory modules encouraged critical thinking and making a deeper understanding of the industry as a whole. It was here that I was also able to learn about the production of video and animations, which has continued to this day.
