About me
Diversity has been at the core of my academic and career development over the years. Starting off with primary school in Pakistan, I found it much more interesting to have a broad mix of skills. As such, I've continuously endeavoured to not limit myself in thinking, learning and application. And so, even though I am an Electrical and Computer Engineer, I've combined Business Development, Project Management and Finance with my core technical expertise to create a more exciting combination whilst performing in Leadership positions. Currently, I am pursuing a Global Full-time MBA degree at the Ashridge Hult International Business School in London. The program will take me from London to Shanghai to Boston, all in one intense year. The focus will be on polishing my Business Leadership skills in Interpersonal Influence, Adaptive Thinking and Team Collaboration. My engineering and scientific academic background led me to write two research papers during the undergraduate degree. The first one examined efficient electrical distribution systems that would eventually lead to net zero-energy residential buildings for colleges and universities. The second one provided a detailed comparative analysis of different photovoltaic modules to explore simple cost-effective solar energy solutions for the modern day home. Looking to the future, I see a plethora of opportunities. I have a couple of ideas to set up my own business which I am currently developing further within my network. At the same time, however, I am pro-actively exploring full-time job positions. It's the journey and the new connections I make along the way that's exciting though - that is what ultimately drives me.

    Senior Director of Business Development

    Leading the business development initiatives with a team of 50+ management and marketing professionals in the Auto-ID technology sector for NADRA while supervising solution design, solution development and process re-engineering in parallel. • Won the project for and subsequently delivered the Multi-biometric E-Passport system for Kenya, generating $13M in revenue with an additional contract signed for Managed Services and Support. • Won the Civil Registration System Project for Sudan. System was promptly designed and deployed, generating $10M in revenue with an additional contract signed for Managed Services and Support. • Won the Citizen National ID Digitization project in Sri Lanka. System currently being developed at a contract price of $11M. • Won the Election Management System project in Fiji that is currently being developed at a contract price of $9M. • Developed NADRA's competencies in intelligent transport systems, financial systems, mobile payment gateways and G2P targeted disbursements. • Introduced comprehensive and standardized product packaging of NADRA's integrated systems and services for more effective business development in unexplored markets.

    Organized a team of 20+ software engineers to design, develop and maintain solutions to automate national and provincial public records of Pakistan. Identified and managed opportunities for public sector business expansion in direct collaboration with state departments. • Generated more than USD 1 million in revenue through a land records management information system for Pakistan with a 24/7 scanning, digitization and indexing unit employing 1,500 in technical labor. • Helped shape local market for home automation and smart energy solutions in Pakistan. • Established coaching and feedback mechanisms for employee growth and learning.

    The Ashridge-Hult MBA is perhaps one of the more unique business degrees out there. It's an intense course that offers exchange programs at other Hult campuses in Shanghai, Dubai, Boston, San Franciso and New York. My own campus is in London and I'll be rotating to Boston and Shanghai. With a focus on developing specific leadership skills in Interpersonal Influence, Adaptive Thinking and Team Collaboration, Hult is beginning to equip me with the tools needed to excel in the most complex of Managerial and Entrepreneurial settings.

    Winner PwC Pitch Challenge
    Participated in an intense weekend of pitching as a Management Consultant. 5 teams of 6 members each battled it out at the PwC head office in London to pitch a Global Shared Service Center proposal in a simulated environment and close the deal. Together with my team, I won the $15m contract.
