About me
I am the Managing Director of The Literary Consultancy, the UK's longest-established editorial consultancy for writers. At TLC I manage our commercial services, strategic partnerships, creative collaborations, and funding relationships. I am also the founder of the Rebecca Swift Foundation, a charity that supports women poets, and the current Vice Chair of the human rights charity English PEN.
At TLC, we help writers write, edit, and publish. We also run the first membership platform that focuses exclusively on creativity and resilience for writers: Being A Writer. Through BAW, we are aiming to create a community of healthy, happy writers.
TLC is also an Arts Council England funded organisation, which means that we run the only nationally recognised bursary scheme for low-income and marginalised writers, the Free Reads Scheme. As a funded organisation, we advocate for access to professional services for all writers, and work on research projects that can help writers today and into the future to truly thrive.
I am also a consultant for publishers, working in-house with editorial teams to build Ethical Editing frameworks, and on boards my speciality is business strategy, business planning, and innovation.
