In my spare time I volunteer for a Martial Arts Organisation that I am a part of. I manage the organisation’s social media networks and help to promote the brand, engaging its target audience and helping to attract new members through informing them of our achievements and recent activity. I also handle the organisation’s PR, writing press releases and reaching out to press and schools to help promote the organisation.
On a number of occasions I have worked as a freelance editor. I have ‘ghost wrote’ two interviews on behalf of a client. One was published by DJ Times and another was published by the BBC. During my time at The Playground I wrote a number of features and interviews for the agency’s website. I have interviewed the likes of A Guy Called Gerald, Sub Focus and Octave One.
I worked for a Social Media Management agency that looks after a number of clients in the music and entertainment industries. In this role I managed a number of clients helping to maximise their online reach so that their investment in social media translated into increased sales and publicity. As well as managing networks I also helped bring new clients on board, analysing their current social media and drafting proposals based on my conclusions.
I have recently just finished a 3 month project for a client who runs an international Brazilian dance festival that tours around Europe. ?In this role I have assisted the Director in analysing the client’s business, its target demographic and its current marketing strategy. Together we have worked to devise and implement a new marketing strategy to help attract more participants to the event and maintain the same number of participants from previous years. As I have previous experience in PR and Social Media Management, I have helped secure press coverage with UK, most notably with the Metro newspaper, and Brazilian press (based in the UK) as well as advising the client on how to run their social media and promote the festival through their networks.
Working as a Press Officer I assisted the PR Manager in securing press coverage for a number of clients in the music industry. I would reach out to contacts from National press (print and online), blogs and student media. I assisted the clients in creating their EPKs (electronic press kits), gathering the required information and helping to write bios and press releases. I also worked as a talent scout, approaching potential clients and organising meetings. The agency also ran its own music events at KOKO, Camden where I would assist running the event working as a production manager and artist liaison.
