Alex Vellis is an award-winning British-Greek spoken word artist, producer, and playwright, from Canterbury, Kent. He holds two world records in producing, ‘Longest continuous spoken word event - Producer’ and ‘Longest consecutive online poetry festival - Lead Producer’. His work dips in and out of the academic and the colloquial to create well-rounded and robust poetry that sits just as well on the tongue as it does on the page. Alex Vellis is also an experienced professional poetry editor and has lectured in universities both at home and in mainland Europe on the subjects of ‘poetry in the community’, ‘the poetry performance’, and ‘Boundaries in men’s mental health in regards to personal tragedy and poetry’. His work is analysed in schools in the Netherlands and performed in young offenders institutes in America.
