About me
I’m a strategic and original thinker able to conceptualise big-picture ideas and deliver beautifully executed details. I match business goals and opportunity with audience insight to create engaging, user-centred experiences, products, campaigns and content. After studying digital art in 1996, I entered the world of design communication as a designer and coder at Saatchi & Saatchi, before focusing on design, user experience and creative leadership across a range of sectors, platforms and disciplines. I’ve since gone on to create award-winning solutions global organisations including BBC, Microsoft, Visit Britain, Nike and Heathrow.

Investigating the widespread appropriation of visual metaphor in interface design, I created a series of interfaces based on the paradigm of ‘audio kinesis’. For my final show I created an installation that eschewed traditional navigational metaphors and replaced them with aural ones. Audiences were presented with an interface that relied solely on aural cognition, which in response led them through a series of visual as well as aural narratives. My final dissertation, “Talent borrows, genius steals”, compared the developing language of new media with that of film, theatre and contemporary art. Exploring its history, growth and potential. I detailed its heritage as a genre and the impact it has had on contemporary and traditional media.
